7:45am to 4:30pm

The Mycogen Nexera Canola Mobile Billboard arrived at the Memorial Building in downtown Devil’s Lake, North Dakota for the 35th Annual NDSU Lake Region Extension Roundup.

The temperature was -9 degrees, with a windchill of -27 as people started to show up for the day. Even North Dakotans think it’s cold!

The show features many different classes on subjects from the Farm Bill to Multi-Season Weather Prediction to Canola 2014 Club Root. In the Canola classes, the presenter said, “Welcome to the Canola Capital!”. The classes are pretty well attended and most people come early (for the free pancake breakfast) and stay for the whole day.

We were able to park right by the main entrance, everyone who came looked over to see the Nexera Canola ad. Once most attendees get to the Memorial Building there is not much in and out.

Throughout the day, we moved around the area, hanging near the entrances where people inside the building could see us.

We did speak with the 2 Mycogen reps, Brittney and Sam, who said it was a pretty good turnout and that a number of people mentioned seeing their Nexera Canola Billboard Truck.

The Nexera Billboard Truck stayed around until 4:30 when nearly all the attendees had left.

Thursday was even colder as the day started, -15 degrees with a -33 wind chill. But still people came, just as many as the day before.

We showed up as everyone was arriving, this time staging the Mycogen Nexera Canola Mobile Billboard at the other main entrance to the Lake Region Extension Roundup.

The day was filled with classes and seminars again.

There was a slow trickle of people coming, not many leaving.

We continued to work around the Memorial Building, but mainly concentrated on the main entrances where people could see out.

Just before 4pm the event was done, we stayed around until most people had left.

Then the Nexera Canola Mobile Billboard headed to Minot.

Parked at Minot

We were fortunate to be able to bring the Mycogen Nexera Canola Billboard Truck to Minot and park it right at the main entrance to the CHS elevator. It is a pretty busy place and it is sitting in a spot where everyone coming to and through the elevator can see it.

We will be back up to Minot on January 27th to get ready for the KMOT Ag Expo Jan 28-30, 2015.
